This set is in good condition. Each silver piece bears the hallmark of the French Government's "Head of the Minerva - 1" Hallmark, certifying a minimum of 950 sterling silver in addition to the manufacturer's sterling silver hallmark; ie. Henin Frères & Hippolyte Thomas. Thomas & Henin operated at 11 rue de Renard Sauveur here in Paris from 1845 to 1855. The Mother-of-Pearl handles knives are made by Paul Canaux & Cie who operated at 30 boulevard Malesherbes. The set is an excellent example of the quality and craftsmanship of 19th century France 950 sterling silver - check the weights and measures below (all weights and measures approximate):
